It's a party!

We celebrated Carson's 6th birthday this weekend. He has really gotten into the wild west and loves to listen to Louis L'Amour books on CD especially Chick Bowdrey. Hence the cowboy getup!
He started kindergarten last month. He LOVES school and every day after school wants to have someone over to play! He has been reading over a year now and there is concern what to do to keep him challenged. He was evaluated and is reading at 2nd grade level... when we thought to bump him up to first, we hit a snag with the administration... so he'll get some more testing and we'll go from there. I think he'd fit in either grade.

Aubrey is enjoying visiting school with me once a week when I volunteer. She really wants to go to school, but this is my last year with her and we have had fun decorating cakes and such together.

Danny just got back from hunting moose...but no luck. =-( Oh well, maybe next time!

I've started to make a name for myself with cake decorating.. I've done about a cake a week...some for customers, some for my family. I am still practicing with the stenciling... But I am having fun anyway!

Winter is fast approaching.. there is a chill in the air. The mountains are getting snow and the leaves are changing colors. Days are getting shorter...won't be long till it is dark at 4pm...ugg.. but that also means Special meeting is fast approaching.

Marshal Carson

Thanks for the birthday shirt Nana!

We had supper at Klondike Pizza with Barb and Jerry for Carson's birthday dinner..

He wanted Camo cupcakes with white stars... I made them into a 6

I had a request for a birthday cake.. Strawberry cake with almond buttercream frosting..

Notice anything new about my honey?? Looks younger without his mustache!

A practice cake.. I can get the top stencil done nice...but around the side is another story.. still trying... this was a choco-cinnamon cake with choco-cinnamon buttercream... way yummy! my new favorite!

Aubrey helped by frosting the tops I cut off to level the cakes..
And more sprinkles!
1st day of school...
riding his horse... love the look of pure joy..he mastered 2 wheels this last month, now he flies on that bike!

Carson is a great-looking cowboy! How fun that you are getting some business with the cakes-- I can see why, as they are always AWESOME looking!
