I went outside to take some picts of the snow and got this looking in the kitchen window of Aubrey playing in the sink...

Camera cake and Bazaar cakes
Here are the cakes I made for the Bazaar...
Chocolate Cinnamon.. my favorite...
Chocolate rose cupcakes
Close up of the stencil of the Peaches and Cream cake

The whole table...
Mocha cupcakes...
Lemon Raspberry...Danny's favorite..

These trifles went quick!
Pumpkin spice with creamcheese praline filling.. yummm!
I sold out of everything but the big cakes that I sold by the slice.. .I have about 1 3/4 cakes left and they'll keep great in the freezer for later!
I had an order for a birthday cake for a photographer.. So I tried this idea...

The camera body is chocolate cake...the lense is rice crispy treats.. all covered in dark chocolate fondant..
But don't look too close, there are lots of cracks and patches on the fondant... I'm still experimenting with it!

And if you wonder where I find all the time to do this... my house is a disaster area... we can't find any clean clothes or dishes.. and the kids don't have their hair combed.... I have to say I am about sugared out! I have 2 orders for next week...that will be much easier than all of the things I did for the bazaar. Oh, what fun I am having... can't say my family is having as much fun as I am though! =-)

CAKE! again!
With the holiday bazaars coming up, I have been experimenting with cake.. I plan to have 3 flavors... whole cakes and slices... some cupcakes and some brownie trifles...
I've had trouble with this stencil...I've wanted to do it with buttercream since Danny doesn't really like the chocolate fondant. But I had to try it with the chocolate fondant and royal icing. It does look better.. and it tastes fine... I guess it depends on each person's tastebuds!

Carson has really taken off with reading... starting some chapter books.. and we've started the wood stove... we've had 6 in of snow.. and then rain today so it is mostly gone. =-( I'd rather have snow!

This is the buttercream and it doesn't show up as much... maybe if I did a white base and the stencil in color?!? I'll have to keep playing with it!

Carson was reading a story to Aubrey.. and letting her snuggle with him and her favorite purple Blankee..
Carson amazed us with this card he created one evening... He didn't ask how to spell anything!

This is alex
and cause you were sad
alex is going to be here..
from carson to cara
Cara is an aide for a special boy named Alex.. and one day he was sick and Carson noticed that Cara was sad.. .so he drew a picture of Alex and this card for her... kind of as a subsitute.
wow! kids blow us away sometimes!
