With the holiday bazaars coming up, I have been experimenting with cake.. I plan to have 3 flavors... whole cakes and slices... some cupcakes and some brownie trifles...
I've had trouble with this stencil...I've wanted to do it with buttercream since Danny doesn't really like the chocolate fondant. But I had to try it with the chocolate fondant and royal icing. It does look better.. and it tastes fine... I guess it depends on each person's tastebuds!
Carson has really taken off with reading... starting some chapter books.. and we've started the wood stove... we've had 6 in of snow.. and then rain today so it is mostly gone. =-( I'd rather have snow!
This is the buttercream and it doesn't show up as much... maybe if I did a white base and the stencil in color?!? I'll have to keep playing with it!

Cara is an aide for a special boy named Alex.. and one day he was sick and Carson noticed that Cara was sad.. .so he drew a picture of Alex and this card for her... kind of as a subsitute.
wow! kids blow us away sometimes!
