Sew day!

Last December at the sew day I started with 8 fat quarters and ended with the top spiral. This last weekend I got to use my new walking foot and sandwiched it. I was going to quilt it in the ditch when Linda offered to do it with a matallic thread. So she finished it up for me... just in time for spring! =-)
This is a detail of the back, sutable for Xmas or Valentines...

And the back...
close up of the front and the metallic thread quilting...

And the front!

It looks really complicated, but it isn't! There aren't any seams to match so it goes super quick.. the hardest part is cutting and keeping them organized. It uses an wedge ruler. It was fun and fast!

Becky, I've been loving this post, but just noticed I never TOLD you that! =) This quilting thing must run in the blood. I saw so many things I loved at your Mom's house last year, and I love the things you make, too! Such a variety, such color pairing, I really like it. You must enjoy it a bunch, it's nice to have a hobby! My hobby is harder to quantify, with this homeschool jazz, and sometimes I wish for other things, especially when I see what other people accomplish. (Isn't that so human?) But I love what I do, and there will be time enough when the empty nest starts in to sew and be crafty. =) Actually, I just keep having more time as the kids get older, so I'm sure I won't have to wait that long, anyway!
Nice job, I'd love to see more!
