winter parade

With the sun shining in and the wood stove roarin'.... we live in the tropics! So we dress for 90 degree weather inside...then to go outside....
we have to add a few layers!!!
We have had 4 sunny days in a row! (Yes that is a big deal, we haven't seen the sun for 3 weeks or so!) This is about 9:30 in the am. The sun is so far south it skims the mountains before peaking over them. Only a few more days and the sun will head back north and we'll get more light!!!
This is about 8am. The north wind was blowing...you can see the snow coming off the peaks... with wind chill it was supposed to be -40!!

As usual we got to ride in a firetruck for the parade... but at the last min. Danny got roped into being part of the snow dragon. Carson did not like the snow dragon but loved waving to folks .... Aubrey was inthralled to watch the people go by...

Danny was the hump at the back....

The parade was at 4:30 in the evening...yes pitch black! The sun goes behind the mountains about 1:30 and it is dark by 4pm. When it is cloudy the days are even shorter! So we enjoy the sunny days when they come. Saturday we drove up the highway a bit. I did take my camera, but didn't stop for any pictures. Nice to see the tops of the mountains and the blue sky!

Nice to see the tops of those mtns ... they are so pretty! And it's right out your windows! How far did Danny have to walk (bent over?) in the parade? Who drove the firetruck? Did Carson throw out any candy? Dark at 4PM .. sounds like lots of craft doin' time! Love, Nana
