sewing

Instead of doing the projects on my list that NEED to get done before Mother's Day and Juneau convention....I have been making things that aren't on any list!
This is a good use of selvages...
It didn't take long to sew this layer cake together. The hardest part is laying it all out in a random order!
I took my snowflakes down as today we are having a heat wave...it is 38!!
Let it MELT!

and so here is a bird like everyone else is making.. but I was lazy and instead of handsewing the tail closed, I sewed it closed with my machine then snipped the edge to make feathers!

Now I am off to make more...

Even though I really ought to be doing dishes and sewing the things on my list... OH well.
Detours are good sometimes, right?

Looks like fun! By the time I get my sewing machine out and re-learn how to do everything on it, my house looks like a hurricane hit it and I have to put it away again and charge into housework! I love that little bird! Is there a pattern for that somewhere?
